At first be sure that your PSP has a permanent patched HEN/CFW installed, e.g. 6.20 TN or 6.20 PRO. If you are using a M33, GEN, ME or PRO CFW with cIPL, follow the instruction of the official readme.txt, which is included into this package.

Installing the LockDown patch into the flash0 of a perma patch CFW:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boot your PSP and disable the flash protection in the TN Settings or the PRO Recovery Menu.

Connect the Flash0 of your PSP with a computer.

Open the flash0 at your PSP, e.g. drive G:/

Put the lockdown.thm into the root, e.g. G:/ (NOT INTO A SUBFOLDER!)

Access the path flash0:/vsh/module (Enable the visibility of hidden and system files/directions at your PC!)

Rename the vshorig.prx into vshmain_real.prx
Rename the vshmain.prx file, which was given through the lockdown package, into vshorig.prx

DO NOT RENAME THE VSHMAIN.PRX FILE OF THE FLASH0, OR YOUR PSP WILL (FOR SURE) BRICK!!!

Do not touch the recovery.prx of the flash0 or the recovery.prx of the lockdown package, hence its not working with the perma patch CFWs.

If you are done it should look like this:
vshmain.prx (the one which was in the flash0)
vshorig.prx (this was previously the vshmain.prx of the lockdown package)
vshmain_real.prx (this was previously the vshorig.prx of the flash0)

Uninstalling the LockDown patch from the flash0 of a perma patch CFW:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Boot your PSP and disable the flash protection in the TN Settings or the PRO Recovery Menu.

Connect the Flash0 of your PSP with a computer.

Open the flash0 at your PSP, e.g. drive G:/

Delete the lockdown.thm and buttons.ini files, which are in the root, e.g. G:/

Access the path flash0:/vsh/module (Enable the visibility of hidden and system files/directions at your PC!)

Delete the vshorig.prx
Rename the vshmain_real.prx into vshorig.prx

DO NOT RENAME THE VSHMAIN.PRX FILE OF THE FLASH0, OR YOUR PSP WILL (FOR SURE) BRICK!!!

Do not touch the recovery.prx of the flash0 or the recovery.prx of the lockdown package, hence its not working with the perma patch CFWs.

If you are done it should look like this:
vshmain.prx (the one which was in the flash0)
vshorig.prx (this was previously the vshmain_real.prx)

Known bugs:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trying to boot the recovery menu from a booting PSP will freeze it or will ask for a password, which will boot the XMB instead of the recovery menu.
Impossibility to boot the recovery menu from a coldboot, but it is still possible to access the recovery via the VSH MENU.
Impossibility to boot the original firmware via pressing select while booting the PSP. Since we changed some files in the flash0, the OFW refuses to boot.
